On June 12th, Lee Docherty will be fighting for more than just the State Police boxing team in Sturbridge, MA. He’ll be raising money to help buy equipment for the Cape Cod ReUnited soccer club and the Cape Cod Riptides softball group. The two programs, whom UKSD works closely with training and coaching young players, are non-profit organizations that aim to promote strong communities through their young athletes.
In a like-minded way, UKSD, Cape Cod ReUnited, and Cape Cod Riptides are dedicated towards providing quality athletic training to everyone–regardless of economic status. The grassroots clubs are Cape-wide rather than town-based, offering a competitive experience to and instilling healthy values in Cape youth at large.
Because of the non-profit backgrounds, the clubs look to fund raising and donations to dress their players in uniforms, buy soccer balls or softballs, etc. In line with UKSD’s community-based philosophies, Doc is putting all the sponsor money back in to the programs. Stop by (Gym Express in Centerville!) and sign up to sponsor him in his pursuit of helping the kids’ programs!
